ISLAMABAD (March 01 2009): A high-level delegation of Etisalat has attended a workshop on PTCL's Network Operation Centre (NOC) project, here on Saturday. The workshop organised by PTCL's NOC team.It was attended by an eight member Etisalat delegation including Naeem Fekri (Vice President IP Ops and head of delegation), Waleed Mohammed, Khalid M Shareef, Ahmed Al Sowaidi, Khalid Al Khaja, Mohammed Bin Dalmook, Zubair Khursaid, Mohammed Al Hosany, HP, and PTCL higher management including Feisal Elkathiri - SEVP Technical; Pervez Mahtab - SEVP operations, EVP Transmission and EVP Development Switching and Transmission.
The SEVP Technical PTCL Feisal Elkathiri gave welcome address followed by introduction of NOC team by EVP Development S n T, Muhammad Nasrullah. Etisalat delegation was briefed by the NOC team on the operational processes, integration procedures, capabilities of OSS solution in PTCL, the achievements and the future road map of NOC.
The speakers included Ajaz Khan, Senior Manager NOC, Nabeel Amjad and Tabbish Mehmood - Assistant Managers NOC Planning and Development and General Manager Traffic & Network Engineering Dr Mahboob ul Haq Siddiqui.
Real time demonstration of NOC's Auto diagnosis, fault resolution, escalation and Trouble Ticketing capability was a key aspect of this one-day workshop which was demonstrated by Nabeel Amjad and Tabbish Mahmood. It also included PIE Network SLA Management and IPTV Service Management by Amer Tufail - Senior Manager PIE Network and Imtiaz Ahmed - GM MM&BB.
The emphasis of the workshop was on the ongoing projects under NOC, the progress to-date, lessons learnt and how this project would benefit PTCL in years to come. Interactive in nature with both parties benefiting from each other's respective experience, the workshop came to an end at 5:30 pm. Souvenirs were presented to the Etisalat delegation.
