Pin It KARACHI: Out of order telephone lines will not be charged line-rent if they are not rectified within 20 days.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) President and CEO, Walid Irshaid announced this in a meeting held with the members of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).

He was invited as chief guest at the KCCI’s communication sub-committee meeting. KCCI President Anjum Nisar briefed him about their role to uplift economic activities and to promote trade and industry in the city.

Nisar said that internationally domestic calls were free-of-charge and various supporting facilities were also given for free, subsequently PTCL should also introduce such services in the country, according to a press statement issued on Tuesday.

He drew attention of Walid Irshaid, CEO PTCL to revamp the infrastructure of PTCL in Karachi, which had became obsolete during monsoon rains resulting into a huge loss of communication. He stated that Karachi generates about 60 per cent revenue for PTCL and therefore it expects provisions of better services accordingly. He urged that PTCL should offer special business package to KCCI’s registered members.
