Sony Ericsson announced that it has launched innovative partnerships with AXN (Sony Pictures Television’s cable and satellite network, AXN, general entertainment, action and adventure channel) and NK, Poland’s most popular social network. This announcement comes as Bert Nordberg, Sony Ericsson President & CEO today, visited Warsaw, Poland for the first time since his presidency began. The partnerships and visit highlights the importance of the Polish market for Sony Ericsson and the country’s role in strengthening Sony Ericsson’s position in the smartphone segment.
Bert Nordberg, President & CEO, Sony Ericsson says, “Our global strategy has returned us to profitability and after successful launch of Xperia™ X10 and the launch of X10 mini and X10 mini pro we are getting back on track. Our collaborations with AXN and NK certainly reinforces this commitment”.
The partnership with AXN’s hit TV programmes, including series such as Damages and Rescue Me and AXN own programmes including Splash and AXN Zoom, on Sony Ericsson’s Xperia™ X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro, and X8 handsets through AXN Player application. Using the powerful multimedia abilities of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia™ family customers will be able to watch programmes on the go at high speeds and at excellent quality. The AXN Player also enables mobile users to access AXN news, blogs entries, AXN’s TV schedules and set up alerts to remind them when their favourite shows start on TV.

Sony Ericsson has also announced that it has now entered a long-term partnership with NK for more strategic cooperation and inclusion of NK in the Xperia™ range. This builds on their original collaboration which saw the announcement of the plug-in integration to the X10 mini which allows users to communicate with their friends on NK via handsets.
