Samsung Electronics, the global leader and award winning innovator in consumer electronics has collaborated with SOS Rural Support Programme, for the construction of a modern school at Ladhayke Village in District Kasur, to serve a vast rural area and uplift the standard of education.

Samsung will provide funds for complete construction and furnishing of this girls school, to be completed within a period of 3 months. The institution will be registered as “SAMSUNG Grammar School” and will be operated by the SOS RSP in accordance with immaculate educational procedures, monitored on a quarterly basis through progress reports on achievement of objectives. An independent auditor will also be engaged to ensure transparency.

The Country Manager of Samsung Electronics Pakistan, Mr. Steve Han said, “This commitment is a part of Samsung’s elaborate social-development program. It aims to foster modern education in underdeveloped regions, by providing impetus to the endeavors of sincere organizations like SOS Villages. Samsung is making this vital social effort, as this school will provide quality education in a vast rural area, thus accelerating the social, educational and financial progress of the whole region”.

The PR Manager of Samsung Electronics Pakistan, Ms. Rabiya Siddiqui said, “The proposed school is easily accessible for a population of about 13,500 people, residing in numerous villages including Rohewala, Lohgarh Jhugian, Ladheke, Sheikh Pura Nau and Basti Ladheke, UC Sehjra Tehsil and District Kausr. Currently, a few government run primary schools for boys & Girls do exist in the area, but this huge population does not have any premium quality educational institution.

Due to the close proximity of the Indian border, the girl students face serious problems in reaching the nearest Government Girls High School, which is located 4.5 Kilometres away in the Bhedian Village. The Samsung Grammer Girls high school will solve this problem permanently.

Other recreational, cultural and training opportunities will also be provided by this educational institution managed by experienced and well qualified teachers. The school structure will comprise of a building with 5 class rooms, library, science labs, computer labs, sports and transportation facilities. SOS will also establish a community health centre in collaboration with SAMSUNG in the school building to provide the basic need of poor community particularly maternity services. Free education will be provided to the deserving students.
