PTA and FIA Joint Raid Against Illegal Traffic

Tweet Pin It Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Response Center for Cyber Crimes (NR3C), launched crack down against illegal telecom operation at Mansehra and Batagram and arrested two persons, one at each place.

A person named Tahir Khalil, owner of the Abasin Link Franchise, Batagram was arrested on the clue of the person arrested at Mansehra for selling number of mobile postpaid connections violating the pre-sale formalities. This raid of Batagram was an extension to the one carried out at Mansehra on 3rd September, 2009.

Chairman PTA, Dr. Mohammed Yaseen appreciated the efforts of PTA and FIA teams. He also directed PTA Zonal offices to further expedite joint raids against illegal activities throughout Pakistan, giving special emphasis to those franchisees and retailers involved in the sale of illegal SIMs and not fulfilling the Standing Operating Procedure (SOP).
