Pin It Mobilink arranged an interactive singing and book-reading activity for cancer patients

Mobilink, Pakistan’s market leader in cellular services and part of Orascom Telecom Holding, arranged an interactive singing and book-reading activity for cancer patients at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) in Lahore. Mobilink Jazz Brand Ambassador and popular singing star Ali Zafar was also present along with Mobilink Foundation volunteers to add color to this event.

Ali Zafar performed unplugged renditions of popular Pakistani songs with the young cancer patients including Channo, Chal Dil Mere, Dil Dil Pakistan. The young audience clapped cheerfully and joined in the singing as well. He also visited the wards to meet patients who were bed-ridden. Mobilink volunteers and Jazz Brand Ambassador’s interactive activity with the children brought radiant smiles and lifted the spirits of cancer patients. Mobilink employees also conducted various fun activities like book reading, playing board games and picture coloring with the ailing children.

Mobilink encourages personal involvement in community development as a part of its CSR Philosophy. Under the flagship of Mobilink Foundation, it carries out its own social initiatives and supports other organizations like SKMCH in caring for the marginalized sections of society. Mobilink rehabilitation camp in Nowshehra for IDPs was the largest ever social contribution from the private sector. The SMS literacy drive for underprivileged females and distribution of 31,000 school bags made from used pana-flex skins among poor students are some of Mobilink’s continued endeavors that are aimed at spreading education, preserving the environment and numerous other uplift projects. Since January 2010, Mobilink volunteers have positively impacted over 3600 individuals.
